Building a party that actually survives Emberfall Saga
Early in Emberfall Saga it's tempting to stack damage dealers and steamroll fights. It works — right up until the mid-game, where enemies start hitting harder and status effects pile on. That's where a lopsided party falls apart.
I rebuilt my group around one durable frontliner, two flexible mid-line characters, and a support who could cleanse and heal. Suddenly fights I'd been losing became manageable. Positioning is the hidden mechanic here: keeping your support out of the enemy's reach changes everything.
Don't sleep on the skill respec option. The game lets you adjust your builds cheaply for most of the campaign, so experiment instead of locking in early. I changed my mage into more of a controller and never looked back.
The story rewards a balanced party too, since some scripted encounters clearly expect you to survive a few rounds rather than end them instantly. Play defensively and the writing gets room to breathe.
